Jonathan
began his studies in Tai Chi in 1985 and attended a healing
course at the College of Psychic Studies, becoming a member
of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, in 1990.
This
led him on to study Shiatsu at the British School of Shiatsu-Do
London, qualifying in 1994, gaining the MRSS in 1995.
From
here he completed a teacher training course (City & Guilds
level 4 in FE teaching stage 1) and began teaching Shiatsu at
the British School of Shiatsu-Do in 1996.
During his studies, he discovered a passion
for TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and went on to study
Acupuncture at the Acumedic Foundation. He has also completed
the Comprehensive Diploma in Auricular Acupuncture with Pauline
Ronson.
At present he uses Acupuncture/Shiatsu at the
Complementary Cancer Care Trust and the Space KC and continues
to teach Shiatsu with the British School, the Mary Ward Centre,
and the City Lit, along with running a busy private clinic in
Central London. He teaches Module 1 for the British College
of Auricular Acupuncture and in 2007 will be teaching Module
2.
In February 2004 he was awarded a fellowship
from Winston Churchill Memorial Trust to see how TCM can be
used in the treatment of cancer, and travelled to China later
that year. In June 2006 he was presented with the award from
the Queen.
